It is likely this photo was taken on the morning of August 26th, 1932. Bob Hall flew the Bulldog that morning then turned the completed plane over to Russ Thaw for a short flight down to Roosevelt Field in New York. There, the Instruments would be calibrated before Thaw was slated to fly it westward for the start of the 1932 Bendix Trophy race.
